A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

And How Yoga Entered My World

My passion for Yoga was sparked in 2004, during my rehabilitation following a serious ankle injury.

I noticed after just a few yoga sessions, my mind was clearer, muscles lengthened, and my alignment started to improve. I felt rejuvenated, relaxed and I was sleeping better too!

Eager to learn more about Yoga, I took a short training course. The desire to further my knowledge not only led to an improvement in my health and well-being but also a career change as I began to train as a Yoga teacher. I went on to study with some of the best Yoga teachers in the UK, undertaking the 240-hour Yoga Alliance accredited Teacher Training with appleyoga in London.

I embarked on further training with appleyoga and qualified to teach pre and postnatal yoga classes. This built upon my skills previously gained during ‘Mum & Baby Yoga’ training undertaken with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli.

I continued to work towards my 500 hours training certification and in 2014 I embarked on Restorative Yoga Training with Anna Ashby at Triyoga in London. This expanded my learning and complemented the range of classes I was able to offer to my clients. It also enabled me to offer some truly therapeutic passive asanas during my regular classes as well as dedicated Restorative Yoga classes.

In 2015, I gained a further qualification with Andrea Kwiatkowski at Camyoga in ‘The Art of Adjustments’, which has proven to be especially beneficial when working with one-to-one clients.

During 2018, I studied extensively with the British School of Meditation and gained a Diploma in Meditation Teaching with Distinction. This has been highly valuable to include a deeper offering within my monthly Restorative and Yin Yoga sessions.

I have had the pleasure of delivering these essential skills to various corporate institutes in London and local schools, in the form of workshops as part of their wellbeing programmes and INSET days.

I love being a student too, and my ongoing continuing professional development enables me to keep my classes varied and offer different options to my clients, allowing them to find the approach that is right for their body.

In addition to my weekly classes I also offers monthly Restorative, Yin and Yoga Nidra classes and regular workshops. Outside of the studio, there are yearly weekend retreats as well as yoga days all based in the south of England.
