Yoga can be such a lovely way to support circulation and bring a sense of lightness back into the body.

Gentle movement, stretching, and mindful breathing all help encourage blood flow, which can leave you feeling more energised and less heavy, especially if you spend long periods sitting or standing.

One of my favourite simple poses for this is legs up the wall. Elevating the legs can help ease feelings of heaviness, encourage circulation, and at the same time create a real sense of calm and relaxation.

Sometimes just a few quiet minutes can make a noticeable difference 🌿

I currently have one space available in my Gentle Flow Pilates class, and you are very welcome to come along for a trial class to see if it suits you.

I thought it might be helpful to share some feedback from one of my lovely clients who has been attending the class for a couple of years.

After lunch we move into a deeply relaxing Yin and Restorative session, followed by Yoga Nidra to bring the body and mind into a state of complete rest.

It’s often everyone’s favourite part of the day.

We do not store emotions in our hips.

There is no scientific evidence that emotions or trauma live in muscles or joints. Emotions are processed by the brain and nervous system.

So why do hip focused practices sometimes feel emotional?

Because slowing down, breathing and moving with awareness can help the nervous system settle. When the body feels safer and calmer, emotions can come into awareness.

Not because they were stored in the hips.
But because we finally gave ourselves space to feel.

Tight hips do not mean trauma.
Your body is not broken.
It is responding intelligently to life.

Movement should support safety, ease and trust, not create fear about what your body is “holding”.

In my classes, I only offer gentle, nurturing adjustments — never forceful or corrective ones.

For me, it’s not about “fixing” how a pose looks, but about supporting how it feels.

A soft touch can be a quiet reminder to breathe a little deeper, lengthen a little further, or simply feel more grounded in your own body. 🤍

Every person’s experience on the mat is unique — and I deeply respect that.

Our bodies already hold so much wisdom; they just need the space and safety to express it.
